I must admit that I did not know what to expect when I received this book from the author to read and then review. So with a completely open and unbiased mind I set out to read this book. I was gripped from the second chapter. I love good storytelling and this book has that from the first page through the last. The story is good because it is real, because it is compelling and gripping, and because it shares something significant about the heart of all of us.
Through all of the various travels, life experiences, seeking of truth, and questioning that the author, Anfuso, experiences we see that he is struggling to feel attached and connected to something bigger than himself and to see him for who he is. He ultimately finds both of these needs met in the claims of Christ. That is one of the things that really endeared the author and his story to me, he spent several years living as very antagonistic towards Christianity and the truth of Christ, yet as his story continued to unfold he saw that God had been seeking him out all along and that he had no choice but to believe. This would be a beautiful story if it ended right there, but it continues and Anfuso goes on to serve Christ with his life and seek the needs for the least of those that Christ loves so much.
I do encourage you to give this book a read. Do it with an open mind willing to be changed by the truth of Christ.
