A Life Well Lived 2

08 Jul

Back in January I wrote a post about the celebration of two lives; the funeral for a close friend’s mother and the end of a ministry led by a man from my hometown.  Well that dear man has passed away.   It was almost two weeks ago.   I was in Qdoba waiting to order some delicious Mexican food when I got the news.  I ordered my food, tried to eat without anyone seeing my tears and I reflected upon how much this man had meant to me.  His name was Art Quadracci and although small in stature, this Italian man was a GIANT in the kingdom of God.  He served faithfully at FBC McAlester for at least 40 years and possibly longer.  He touched many lives during that time.  I counted at least 10 people now serving in ministry that were influenced by him in just a 5-7 year period.  Who knows what the number was for his life.  As I thought about how he influenced me I realized that he had a deep impact on me being in ministry.  He confirmed my calling and gave me a start in leading a devotional breakfast.  As I have thought about all of this, one thing has kept coming to my mind; I want to raise my sons and daughters to be people that have that type of lasting Kingdom influence and impact.
