Who Am I? – Jerry Bridges – A Book Review

10 Sep

I really enjoy reading works from Cruciform press.  I have yet to read a book from there that is not just great.  Who Am I? by Jerry Bridges is no different.

None of us are complete or known outside of or apart from Christ.  Paul says this in 1 Corinthians 13 when he declares that know we know in part, then we should fully know.  We will not be fully known until we are known in Heaven.  We can however come to a better understanding of who we are and who we are called to be through understanding Christ and His calling on our life.  This is what Bridges addresses with this book.

To know ourselves we have to know to ask the right questions, know that we are creatures, that we are in Christ.  We also have to realize that we are a justified and adopted son or daughter of God.  We have to accept that we are a new creation and that that makes us a saint.  We then need to understand that with being a saint comes certain duties because we are know a servant of Christ and finally we need to always understand that we are not yet perfect.

I highly recommend this book to you.

I received this book in ebook form from the publisher, Cruciform, for the purpose of review with no requirement to write a positive review.
